Family Violence Prevention Fund

The Family Violence Prevention Fund (FVPF) works to end domestic violence and help women and children whose lives are devastated by abuse, because every person has the right to live in a home free of violence. The FVPF challenges lawmakers to take domestic violence seriously, educates judges to protect all victims of abuse, and advocates for laws to help battered immigrant women. The FVPF works with health care providers and employers to identify and aid victims of abuse, helps communities support children from violent homes, and shows Americans how to help end domestic violence.

The FVPF's THERE'S NO EXCUSE FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE public education campaign is a collaborative effort with The Advertising Council to educate Americans about domestic violence and to mobilize Americans to be part of the solution. The campaign includes powerful television, radio and print public service announcements and resources designed to galvanize people to take action against abuse.

Through its Children's Program, the FVPF is working to raise awareness of the links between child abuse, youth violence, and domestic violence to keep women and children safer. The organization is also teaching judges to better understand how their decisions affect all victims of abuse through its Judicial Education Project. And to protect the legal rights of some of our most vulnerable residents, the FVPF runs a Battered Immigrant Women's Rights Project.
